ON-SITE TESTING

DIAGNOSTIC TESTING

CT SCAN

With more than 80 million computed tomography (CT) scans per year in the United States, there is a chance that you might need this specialized type of X-ray at some point. At Marsalis Avenue Urgent Care Clinic, we offer CT scans on-site for our patients if ordered by our experienced medical team. You can call us at 214-432-1450 or Schedule an Appointment.

EKG

An electrocardiogram (EKG) measures the electrical activity within your heart. If you visit Marsalis Avenue Urgent Care Clinic because of symptoms such as chest pain, heart palpitations, or breathing issues, our experienced medical team may recommend this test as part of the diagnostic process.

ULTRASOUND

An ultrasound is well known as a test for pregnancy, but they have far wider uses than you may think. If you have an injury or unexplained symptoms, a diagnostic ultrasound may be part of your exam at Marsalis Avenue Urgent Care Clinic. Our experienced medical team will provide the healthcare services that you need.

X-RAY

X-rays like other tests can effectively diagnose many medical problems, which is why they are some of the go-to imaging tests for medical providers today. At Marsalis Avenue Urgent Care Clinic, our experienced medical team uses our on-site digital X-ray equipment to provide X-rays as an effective first-line diagnostic tool for a variety of injuries and health concerns.

TBL-ABI

The TBL-ABI is a non-invasive technique used to check vascular status and for peripheral arterial disease (PAD). This diagnostic tool is an important way to screen and assess symptomatic Peripheral Vascular Disease (PAD), and wound care assessment. It may also be used on patients with venous or arterial ulcers before the application of compression therapy. The index compares the systolic blood pressures of the arms and legs to give a ratio that can suggest various severity of peripheral vascular disease.

LAB SERVICES

Lab services provide a quick, convenient, and minimally invasive way to identify underlying medical issues, like hormonal imbalances and nutritional deficiencies. At Marsalis Avenue Urgent Care Clinic, our experienced medical team will provide lab services to individuals 13 years older and up. Before ordering any lab services, we will review your medical records and ask about the reason for your visit. After gathering the necessary information, additional tests may be needed to address your medical needs.

Our in-office labs include:

  • Basic / Comprehensive Metabolic Profile
  • Cardiac
  • Complete Blood Count (CBC)
  • COVID-19
  • Flu
  • Strep
  • Urinalysis

Other lab tests can be handled by our office with external laboratories. You can call us at 214-432-1450 or Schedule an Appointment.

WHAT ARE LAB SERVICES?

Lab services are diagnostic tests that detect underlying medical issues invisible to the naked eye and may alert you to potentially serious issues when they are easiest to treat. They analyze samples of your bodily fluids, like blood, urine, or saliva, to determine your risk of conditions like high cholesterol, diabetes, sexually transmitted diseases, etc.

WHAT ARE SOME COMMON LAB SERVICES?

Basic Metabolic Panel (BMP)

A basic metabolic panel measures certain nutrients in your blood, like potassium, chloride, and sodium.  This information is used to assess your kidney function as well as your electrolyte and fluid balance.

Complete Blood Count (CBC)

A complete blood count is a lab test that measures your red blood cells, white blood cells, and platelets. It’s an easy and effective way to determine your nutritional status or to evaluate symptoms like weakness, bruising, and fatigue.

Cultures

A culture is a laboratory test that involves your provider collecting a sample of saliva. This type of test can diagnose illnesses such as a urinary tract infection, strep throat, or COVID-19.

Glycated Hemoglobin (A1C)

A glycated hemoglobin test, or A1C test, measures your average blood sugar over the last few months. If you receive a reading of 6.7% or higher on two separate tests, it means you have diabetes.

Lipid Panel

A lipid panel measures the number of fats (lipids) in your blood. If you have too much “bad” cholesterol, you are more likely to experience cardiovascular issues, such as a heart attack or a stroke.

Urinalysis

Urinalysis analyzes a sample of your urine.  Our experienced medical team uses the urinalysis results to diagnose chronic medical conditions such as kidney disease and diabetes.
