Dr. Dralves Edwards, DO

Dralves Edwards, DO, is a doctor of osteopathy, bringing more than 35 years of experience in urgent care medicine to the Marsalis Avenue Urgent Care Clinic.

Dr. Edwards earned his undergraduate degree from North Texas State University in Denton, Texas. He subsequently enrolled at the Texas College of Osteopathic Medicine in Fort Worth, Texas earning his medical degree. Before entering private practice, Dr. Edwards completed an internship at Doctors Hospital in Columbus, Ohio.

Throughout his career, Dr. Edwards has served in various positions, including medical director and primary care physician. He has owned and operated his practice providing family and sports medical care.  His friendly demeanor and bedside manners along with his ability to solve even the most complex issues makes him a favorite of patients and colleagues alike. He advocates for a patient focused experience and is committed to providing quality care services for each patient encounter.

Outside of work, Dr. Edwards is active in the community.  He also enjoys philanthropy, regularly contributing to community organizations, and he is working on his first book.  Doc as he is affectionately called welcomes you to Marsalis Avenue Urgent Care Clinic if you are seeking quality and cost-effective healthcare.

Marsalis Avenue Urgent Care Clinic’s mission is to provide our patients with convenient, cost-effective, and quality healthcare every day of the week.   We are located in the heart of the Southern Dallas community but welcome all patients in the Dallas/Fort Worth metroplex. How Do I Know If I Need Marsalis Avenue Urgent Care Clinic or the Emergency Room?

If you think or feel that your medical condition is life-threatening such as chest pains, severe wounds, or amputations, you need to be seen in an Emergency Room and should call 911 immediately. Marsalis Avenue Urgent Care Clinic treats conditions that need immediate attention such as minor injuries and illnesses that are not life or limb threatening to individuals 13 years old and up.

Do I Need An Appointment for Marsalis Avenue Urgent Care Clinic?

You do not need an appointment and may walk-in if your visit is between 9:00 am – 4:30 pm (Monday-Friday), however, after 4:30 pm, we accept scheduled appointments only.  For the new patients who visit Marsalis Avenue Urgent Care Clinic, you do not need an appointment and we welcome walk-ins. We do however encourage you to Schedule an Appointment, and complete your patient intake information online through our Patient Portal, or arrive at least 15 minutes before your scheduled appointment to complete the patient intake information.    Most patient visits with simple complaints can take as little as 30 minutes, and most patients complete their visit within 1 hour. 

School and Sports Physical patients also do not need an appointment; however, we encourage you to bring your form with you.

We encourage our patients to follow up with their primary care provider after visiting our urgent care facility.

Who Will Be Treating Me?

Marsalis Avenue Urgent Care Clinic has served the Dallas community for more than 40 years and our goal is to provide quality healthcare.  Our medical team includes licensed physicians, experienced nurse practitioners, physicians and medical assistants, and x-ray technologists who have experience and training in emergency medicine, primary care, internal medicine, and sports medicine.  Our medical team’s goal is to help individuals achieve optimal health and well-being.   We believe that “The Patient Comes First”, therefore, our team takes the time to understand each patient’s concerns and symptoms and develops a treatment plan to address your healthcare needs.   We encourage our patients to follow up with their primary care provider after visiting our urgent care facility. 

Do You Monitor or Provide On-going Care?

Marsalis Avenue Urgent Care Clinic is currently not offering primary care for our patients.   Our urgent care patients will be referred back to their primary care provider for ongoing care.  For patients who do not have a primary care provider, we will be happy to refer you to a primary care provider that accepts new patients.

Will You Refill My Medications?

Marsalis Avenue Urgent Care Clinic is an urgent care medical setting; therefore, your medication refills should be handled by your primary care provider, however, under certain circumstances as deemed necessary, on a case-by-case basis, medication may be refilled until a patient can be seen by their primary care provider.
